Ford Raptor 2 Year Ownership Experience
A viewer asked for an update on the Raptor and I thought it was a great idea to share my experience so far. It’s been fantastic. Only one little problem, which was the exhaust rattle that has been completely fixed by a valve spring redesign. It’s horrible on gas as expected. It drives amazing. It sounds amazing. No engine problems, no electrical problems. I try to cover everything I can think of. Hope you enjoy me babbling away about it.

    Couple of FYI for you. You say you have problem backing up you can't see why don't you use your camera it works awesome. When you put in reverse it automatically comes on and when you pull forward press your camera button that way you can view the front of your vehicle and see how far you want to park up. Next you do not need to get out your truck to close your tailgate there is a button on your dashboard. Or use your key fob. Next for your sport mode you have an r button on your steering wheel That's all you need to press.preset it to your settings and then press the button when you get in the truck and it will be in any mode you programmed it to. Instead of turning the knob twice to the left to put in sport mode.I have a 21 raptor. I do not have the r button. Also I don't know any dealer currently asking over sticker for a raptor. Raptor r different story. Anyway I love my raptor 2021. No issues whatsoever. 9,000 miles on it currently. Something you might enjoy I installed on mine are the power running boards The best investment I've ever made so much easier getting in and out of the truck. Especially for your wife or your daughter to get in they will enjoy it.

      This is a great comment! Thank you! I can’t back up not because of the visibility but because I under shoot the parking spot and have to pull forward and then back up again. Only got it right once. It’s a me deficiency lol. I didnt know the key fob would live the gate while the truck is running. That’s great! I forget the switch is there. And the r button is programmed for quite exhaust but sport for everything else. Makes it nice for my wife. Thanks for the tips! Very appreciated.

    Hey Bobby you are so right about the love and hate relationship with cardealers I do experience the same with my local BMW dealership... I do however have a question which is totally not related to this video. Currently staying in Orlando for another small 2 weeks and we would like to go somewhere else, we have been to Miami and the everglades, but we thought Tampa would be fun, you live in the cape coral area right? would you recommend going there instead because we would like to see the west coast?

    • @bobbygfl
      @bobbygfl 11 годин тому

      Tampa is beautiful and frankly, if you’re into the beach, the water is much clearer this time of year. Venice is also amazing. You can hunt for sharks teeth right on the beach. Cape Coral and Fort Myers Beach are really still recovering from Ian. there’s plenty to do, but Tampa is way more developed.

    That has nothing to do with the SeaDek product, and everything to do with a poor installation. There are thousands of boats with it in Florida with no problem.

    • @bobbygfl
      @bobbygfl День тому

      The product actually separated from the adhesive in many areas therefore it is actually a problem with the product. Maybe they have fixed this I have no idea. I agree it was not put down correctly and I also agree there are boats with no problems.

    • @willroeder6462
      @willroeder6462 День тому

      @@bobbygfl That still does not indicate an issue with the product. If the surface was not properly prepared, the adhesive will break down, causing it to separate from both the boat deck and the flooring material itself. The adhesive is absorbent, and will pull up any chemicals/oils on the boat deck and cause it to break down on both sides.

    • @bobbygfl
      @bobbygfl День тому

      I don’t think you’re understanding what I’m saying. The adhesive layer sticks to the deck. The sea deck comes up and it is completely dry. Not sticky. All of the adhesive is still sticking to the deck. The product separated from the adhesive. The deck was properly prepped in this case and the adhesive did not stick properly to the back of the foam product. I understand that there are people that have had this for many many years with no problem, however, this was my experience.

      Inflate harder. If it’s the same type of valve, it is a pressure valve and the higher the pressure the more pressure there is on the back of the valve holding air in better.

      As the years progress Code requires homes to be built higher and higher. Most of the homes in this area were built in the 60s. Our home was built in 2017. Houses built in 2020 for example are about 12 inches higher than mine so they fared even better. I believe Code also now requires the pool deck to be higher, which would’ve been ideal.

    Quick question, I have a 3rd gen and I hear wind noise starting at 40mph right from the corner of the driver window where the side mirror is mounted. I installed auto zone seal that’s like 5/8” thick but it didn’t solve the noise problem at all. Will this 1/2” seal help?

    • @bobbygfl
      @bobbygfl 4 дні тому

    • @bobbygfl
      @bobbygfl 2 дні тому

      The painters tape blocks the air from entering the seam between your door panel and fender panel. If you really wanted to get into this, you could do it 12” x 12” around the entire seam. First tape up the entire door. And then do passes at 40 miles an hour peeling off 12 inches at a time until the noise comes back. I don’t think I would bother doing that but that way you would know exactly where the noises coming from. if you look at a Mercedes or many high-end cars, they actually have a gasket in the door that causes the gap to be flush. it’s hard to see because it’s black but once you look for it, you’ll see it and it’s exactly for this reason, noise

    I did about the same thing on tying up my 24 ft. Chaparral. The bow was tie to my tiki post, all cleats were tied to my pylons (Front to Back). I did not strap down my lift, but that is a great idea because the wind and water kept pushing it back and forth scaring my pylons. Thanks for your video and next time I will have my lift cover taken off before the storm hits. They can take a year to be replaced due to demand, because many were ripped off. Coastline is who built my lift cover frame and in my eyes they make the best frame after seeing so many damaged. The Tiki Post now has a little bend, but Ian gave it a little more character and Southern Cross was able to to put new thatches on it to look like new again. Let's hope the 2024 hurricanes misses Cape Coral, many insurance companies still have not paid their debt to us home owners, who paid their debt when it was due.

    I found a trick to get the carpet off the clip. Slide your finger under the carpet along the side down inside of it. then you can get your finger behind it in a spot where its loose then you can manipulate the carpet easily and takes 2 sec to get off those side clips, no tools required.

    Thanks! Where did you get the metal platform that expands across your slip? I need one to replace my Lenco.

      Lowe’s or Home Depot. it’s just a scaffolding type plank. It’s in the ladder department. Thanks for the comment!

    USB-C port was actually a surprice for me when I received mine yesterday. There was no mention of USB-C port on UK or US websites, so I guess they've had a shadow revision (aka 2.1).

    How many hours on this engine? How many do you add a year?

    • @bobbygfl
      @bobbygfl 10 днів тому

      I’d say I add 150 hours a year. The hour meter that I put on is at about 3000 hours. I installed it about 25 years ago. No idea how many hours were on it the first 3 or 4 years before I bought it. Crazy, never thought about it. Thanks for asking

    Sir, u can’t keep flipping your steaks, as u well know, like that other guy said here, quarter turn them, and this way u will get your slashes of char burnt on them, let them cook way more then flipping them like eggs, Good meat u have, but the cooking is not right at all, Add seasons within 1 min on the grill, after they cook, as u will taste thr seasons raw, its designed to melt into the meat, not raw, Over all I love the grill u have, I like the way u made the appearance u have there come to life and it looks like a joy to cook in your yard, Next video u make, grab a cold beer and show it off, when u are cooking , I would rather see u slightly drunk to feeling good , this way we can say u was drunk and did not know how to cook , Again love the design u have, and the bbq grill

    wow - that's a lot of product being used. Can't you just pour and smear?

    • @bobbygfl
      @bobbygfl 13 днів тому

      I really think it needs to have some level of thickness in order to pull the stain out. That’s how it appears to work. It absorbs the stain into the product. so the thicker layer of product the longer it will pull the stain out. I think if you smear thin layer, you just end up having to do it multiple times. Fortunately it’s only $12 a bottle and the bottle seems to go pretty far with little spots like this.
